Tonight’s Program (February 12, 2013)
Conrad Gregg gave an excellent program this evening on his visit to the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Mexico during January. He also attended two Rotary meetings while there. Conrad was impressed with the children’s music and dancing which we will see in April when they perform for our community and District 6000 members. We still need housing for these students when they come to West Liberty.
Next Week’s Program (February 19 2013)
President Elect Steve Hanson will present the WLHS football coach and some of his football players from the 2012 state playoff qualifying team. The Comet football team made it to the state playoffs for the second consecutive year.
New Shoes Needed
District 6000 Governor Terry Geiger’s project this year is collecting new shoes for people in Africa. The shoes need to be in shoe boxes for easier shipping. We will need the shoes by the District Conference of April 11-13. Terry wants every club in the District to donate one pair for every member. Therefore, our club’s goal is to have 40 pairs of shoes.
The McVey Honor Society induction ceremony for West Liberty High School students will be March 11 at 7 PM at the West Liberty High School Auditorium.
The Rotary Board met last Tuesday evening to discuss ideas for our meals at Rotary meetings. Several ideas were discussed and we are looking into several different possibilities.
