Rotary Gala Meeting, Wednesday, Jan. 19
In attendance: Sara Sedlacek, Ken Brooks, Roberta Hodge, Linley Heath, Erika Benedict, Jessica Madsen
We continue to be on track for our April 9 date; however, we have moved the gala to Saturday, June 4. Sara confirmed the date with Courtney at the West Liberty Community Center and we are on their calendar.
Sara is working on rewriting the donation letter, to be approved by the board. We can hopefully do this by email and not have to wait for the board meeting next week.
We hope to have a Save the Date out via social media, email, and mail by Jan. 31. Sara is working with Ashley Smith, the WLHS band director, to design the graphic/postcard. The Rotary board will have to approve this design at its meeting on Thursday, Jan. 27.
Ashley Smith will send postcards/emails to all the Fine Arts families. The school can’t give Rotary a list due to privacy requirements, but Ashley can send them from the school. Rotary will be in charge of sending to past gala attendees, Rotarians, and past donors.
As soon as the donation letter has been approved by Rotarians, Booster volunteers will begin soliciting donations.
We are planning a hybrid event. We hope by June things will have calmed down, but will be prepared to either move the event outside or go fully virtual if needed. The Boosters believe to truly highlight their programs, though, the event should have an in-person component.
We still need volunteers for all of the sub-committees. Please contact either Sara Sedlacek or Gala Co-Chair Ken Brooks to learn more about the sub-committees and volunteer your time.
The next Gala meeting will be over Zoom on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m. Please let Sara Sedlacek and Ken Brooks know if you would like an invitation.

Please save the date FEBRUARY 24, 2022. Our West Liberty Rotary Club is bringing this program, “Social Media & Parents”, to our Community Center .
Please share the attached flier with your club members.
We hope to see all of you there.
