Membership Spotlight..... Meet Bob Cline
When did you join rotary
I joined in 1962
Why did you join rotary
My Father was a Rotarian, in which he started in the late 1930's, and I felt that service was always a part of my life and seeing him in service , so I joined. I was one of the youngest in the club for a long time. As well as President in 1964-1965, making me one of the youngest presidents to serve in the WL Rotary Club.
What is your favorite rotary memory
50th anniversary 1974 peak time for club for WL with strong membership on every Tuesday night and a huge gala on interstate 80 restaurant. Also had several RI dignitaries at the time where Bob hosted in his home. Overall great memory as it was a stable club and multiple second generation Rotarians in the club at the time
What is your favorite WL memory

Several due to being all life in WL

July 4 of 1988 of 4 day celebration, where there was 4 days of events with a group of 4 Russian students walking across the United States and came thru west liberty at that same time, where past Governor Brandstand attended too and an  all school celebration was held too at the time.  West liberty was vibrant!!!

Rotary Foundation Minute 11/21/2023
Welcome to Week 3 of RI’s Foundation Month
This is the week Americans all over the globe take a break from their daily routine, to enjoy precious moments with friends and families. In the same vein, it’s appropriate for The Foundation Minute to recount why TRF, in its mission to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace, has reasons to be thankful in 2023, for not only providing peace, but also:
  • FIGHTING disease
  • Providing Clean WATER, SANITATION, and HYGIENE
  • SAVING Mothers and Children
  • Supporting EDUCATION
  • GROWING Local Economies
  • PROTECTING the Environment.
These goals have been achieved, and are still being accomplished, through various Rotary districts and clubs. Indeed, we have every reason to be thankful for doing things that are honest, fair, build goodwill, and are beneficial to all.
So, Happy Thanksgiving to all Rotarians and friends of TRF world-wide!
