Rotary Chicken BBQ
Have you sold your 20 tickets for this year’s Chicken BBQ? Jim Nevins, who is a resident of assisted living at Simpson Home and a long time Rotarian requested 20 tickets so he could sell them to his friends. Let’s all make a strong effort to reach 1,000 sales this year. Steve Hanson will give us a report this evening.
Tonight’s Meal
Tonight we will have our fair stand hit pork chop with mixed veggies, applesauce, and Mary Pat Brooke’s home baked bars. Cost is $5 per person. Next week we will have Subway and soup at our noon meeting.
Tonight’s Program
Don Heckman will talk about his trip along with others from Muscatine and Gov. Branstad to China to visit Vice President Xi Jinping who came to Muscatine last February. He is presumed to be China’s next leader but events the past couple of weeks have raised some questions about that. We welcome Don to our Rotary meeting and look forward to an interesting program tonight.
Next Week
At our noon meeting next Tuesday, Ethan Anderson will bring us up to date about our website. This will help us communicate better with our members. Plan to attend to learn more about this project.
Children’s Day
With all the publicity West Liberty has received on the puppet train shows there should be more visitors to enjoy all the activities in addition to all the puppet shows. We will have our Rotary food stand again this year with turkey filets, brats, corn dogs, and hot dogs. Check with Tom Brooke to see if help is needed for the stand. Let’s show our visitors the friendly, courteous service we are noted for.
Note: The Ringer is handed out at the weekly Rotary meetings. This is The Ringer from the most recent meeting. If you weren’t able to attend, you can read it here! See the Schedule page for more information on upcoming events and meetings.
