Due to the increasing cost of food. The West Liberty Rotary Board of Directors have voted to raise the price of the meals at the West Liberty Rotary Club meetings to $7.00. This price increase will begin at our April 2, 2013 meeting.
Tuesday Night Program (March 19, 2013)
Tonight’s meeting will be hosted by Jim Keele. He has invited Conrad Gregg to be tonight’s presenter. Conrad will show a slide show of historical pictures of West Liberty.
The meal tonight will be: Fried Chicken, Potato Wedges, Cole Slaw and Baked Beans. The meal tonight will cost $5.00. Please plan to attend.
Next Week’s Program (March 26, 2013)
Next week’s meeting will be at Noon at the West Liberty Community Center.
Tom Brooke will be showing a DVD of the dancers from the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Mexico. Tom will also discuss the upcoming performances that these wonderful children will be appearing in when they come to Iowa next month.
The meal next week will be provided by Local Grounds and will be $5.00. Please plan to attend next week’s very important meeting.
The Board of Directors will have a Board meeting immediately following the regular meeting.
New Shoes Needed by March 26, 2013
District 6000 Governor Terry Geiger’s project this year is collecting new shoes for people in Africa. The shoes need to be in shoe boxes for easier shipping. The shoes are needed by next week’s meeting. Terry wants every club in the District to donate one pair for every member. Therefore, our club’s goal is to have 40 pairs of shoes.
March 12, 2013 West Liberty Rotary Board Meeting
The West Liberty Rotary Board met last week. As already mentioned the Board voted to increase the cost of the meals to $7.00 beginning April 2, 2013.
The Board also voted to give $500 to the West Liberty Booster Club to help them buy weights for the WLHS weight room. In other action, the Board voted to give an additional $250 to the Haiti Well Project so that we can help build nine (up from the previously planned eight) new wells for the Haitian people. Finally, the Board voted to go 50/50 with the West Liberty Community Center to buy a new grille so that we can use the grille for upcoming Rotary meals whenever Spring arrives.
